Jay’s fast rando bike

Jay’s fast rando bike

Jay wanted something for endurance racing, along the lines of my TransAm bike. So using his fits numbers, that is what we came up with. With an Enve fork up front, the bike will clear up to 32mm tires. Haero bars from Germany have a removable but integrated aerobar – Jay will add foam to the bar tops for resting his elbows.

The frame features internally brazed bosses for the custom frame bag, for a tight fit and clean lines with the bag removed. This and the additional two bags were custom made for the bike by Kaibab Customs.

Components are 11spd SRAM eTap, with Zipp wheels. Jay’s choice of saddle is a little weighty, but even so the bike comes in at 19.8lbs with the aerobar and bags installed. Jay created the ‘Spitfire’ paint layout, which was applied by Colorworks.

  1. That is a work of art. What is that saddle? Is that the Rivet Cycle Works “The Independence”?
