Stephen’s team issue road bike

Stephen’s team issue road bike

This one had kind of a fun ‘first ride’ story – Stephen had been over to the workshop to see his frame built; it then went off to powdercoat, with no particular hurry; or so we thought…. Until Stephen found a crack in his old Cannondale frame, on the morning of the local Tuesday night criterium. Bob at Custom Powderworks delivered the coated frame at 4pm. We did a super quick assembly (eTap helps there!), and were then on the startline at 7:15. Apparently it didn’t take Stephen long to get used to the new bike – he and I lapped the field with Stephen going on to take the win. So that was fun.

The bike is essentially what has become as close as I seem to get to a ‘standard’ build, but of course with custom geometry to match Stephen’s fit. Aero downtube, ovalised toptube, s-bend chainstays and seatstays. Then built up with an Enve fork, eTap shifting and FSA/Vision parts for the rest. And some custom 3D printed accessories that Stephen designed – bar end plugs and headset spacer. Now the rest of us have to just keep trying to keep up…..

That tells me something, that this works and you’re building sweet bikes.

  2. Really like it! was there intention for the bike to be K-Force WE rather than eTAp for a complete FSA build?

    • Hi Daniel – yes if WE had been available that would have likely been chosen. Hopefully will be able to try that group out soon!
