Nick’s V3 road

Nick’s V3 road

Nick wanted a lightweight build, with snappy handling and without a harsh ride feel. He asked me to build him a V3 frame (carbon ISP and headtube insert), with straight stays and aero downtube. We decided on a straight steerer fork – Nick managed to track down the now discontinued Enve 1.0 model to keep the weight down.

Shifting is SRAM Red mechanical with internal routing. The lightweight theme is continued with EE brakes, Lightning crank and McFk stem. With a set of Enve 3.4 clincher wheels, the complete weight is just under 14lbs. Paint lovingly applied by Colorworks.

Did my first 50 miles today. Bike rides fantastic. The handling is so immediate. Nice and snappy when I get on it. Also it’s nice to have that compliance back that only steel can provide. Also the paint is absolutely flawless, Colorworks nailed it.  Again amazing job! Thank you!

  1. What is the shifting like on those Extralite chainrings?

    • Seemed fine in the stand! I haven’t used them myself on the road.

  2. Very clean build. What’s the weight of the frame without fork, btw?
