650B single sided MTB fork

Tomas wanted to change the front wheel size on his 26″ hardtail. So he asked me to build him a single sided fork that would allow a 650B wheel but maintain his existing geometry and handling. Here is the result! The fork (strut?) is all cromoly including the Lefty axle, with a titanium steerer tube. It is custom sized to fit to Tomas’s headtube, with a spacer under the top clamp allowing for a little fine tuning and headset preload adjustment. Complete weight is 1010g.

HELLO. OKAY?
What is the price of the FORK LEFTY for a 650B wheel?
Hi there, pricing depends on design and options, but would be in the $1500 range.
thanks, Rob.
I like your style, it’s as free as the wind! But single sided fork should be safe isn’t it? Should the front axle strong enough to face, like what we always do,to jump over steep? Life matters, isn’t it?
Yes, plenty strong enough and safe! I used the Cannondale Lefty axle standard, which is well proven. Stub axles are very common everywhere else outside of bicycles – when was the last time you saw a car with the axle supported on both sides? 🙂
