Einar’s V3 road

Einar’s V3 road

Einar was looking for a lightweight, performance road bike. He asked for a V3 frame – which features a carbon integrated seatmast and carbon headtube insert. The geometry was designed to give the required fit, with good handling and no toe-wheel overlap.

The Enve tubes in the frame have a 3K outer carbon weave. Einar selected components with the same finish – a Lightning crank, Fibre-lyte chainrings, Arundel bottle cages, and special order Mcfk bar and stem.

Dura-ace Di2 handles the shifting, with full internal routing – the BB shell was specially modified internally to allow space for both the Di2 wires and the 30mm spindle in a standard BSA shell. The rear brake cable also runs internally inside the toptube, with EE brakes taking care of stopping duties.

The headset is a Cane Creek 110, fitted with their lightweight AER II bearings. The wheels feature Carbon-ti straight pull hubs, Sapim cx-ray spokes and Enve 3.4 tubeless rims.

Then onto paint! Einar wanted to add some graphics to the fork, and sent some tattoo images as reference. A local airbrush artist did a great job of coming up with a custom design to match the requirements. Colorworks added a fade to the rear end to tie in the colors used on the fork, and brought everything up to a super gloss finish.

The final weight as shown complete with cages and pedals is 14.3lbs.
