Dave’s 650B gravel frameset
Dave asked me to build him a frame to suit 650B x 42mm tires. He is quite tall, so we used the Enve ‘cross fork (being longer than their gravel fork), to help reduce the length of the headtube. The headtube is tapered, for external headset cups both ends. Ritchey supplied the one-piece bar/stem, and the toptube angle is matched to the stem angle. This gives plenty of room inside the main triangle for two large bottles plus a custom frame bag (along with matching toptube bag), made locally by Kaibab Customs.
The seatstays are dropped to allow room for a third bottle cage on the rear of the seattube. S-bend chainstays and seatstays provided the needed tire clearance. The bike will run SRAM eTap wireless shifting, so there is just internal routing for the rear disc brake, with a custom flat mount next to the Syntace X12 thru-axle dropouts.
