Sorry for the lack of postings – and thanks to those who wrote to check in! Things have just been rather busy – working on many new designs and we are also having some rennovations done here at English Cycles HQ. And of course there has been some framebuilding too….
First up we have David’s road bike. This is all done and ready for paint – it will be going off to Colorworks next week. A lightweight road frame with matching fork, it will be built up with a pretty light selection of parts.
Secondly Dave’s TT bike. Since I built my time trial bike five years ago, many people have asked about the one-piece fork/bar/aerobar. But nobody actually had a position low enough to warrant this design – until this build. Dave opted for a Chris King builder’s edition Inset headset, and the bike will be assembled with Di2. The custom internal battery will be in the seattube, with a micro-usb charging port in the back of the seatmast cap. Mostly done, just some cleanup and the last few braze-ons to go.
In amongst everything else, I have managed to get out for a few mountain bike rides – including the McKenzie River Trail last week. A perfect fall day, and it doesn’t get much better than 26 miles of downhill singletrack (and we did ride up the road to the top to earn our play!). Really nice to do a post-season relaxed ride in beautiful surroundings.
