Racing is underway for the season here in Oregon – well for some it has been since February… Personally I don’t like to race before April, as it gives me longer for base training and allows a chance of the weather being better…  The events I enjoyed the most last year were the Oregon Gran Fondo and the Coast Gravel Epic. Both are run by Steve Cash and the team at Dark 30 Sports, who put on a great event. Having finished second in both last year I have room for improvement! Additionally I have signed up for the Tour of Aufderheide – I’ve never ridden this Oregon scenic byway, so am looking forward to that. Signing up for all three events is the Oregon Triple Crown, which gives a few perks – now I just have to successfully complete all three. I’d definitely recommend any (or all) of these events if you are looking for some great riding in fantastic scenery. And bagpipes :-
