Riding in the rain without fenders is miserable. But they can be hard to mount on race bikes. Enter my buddy Devin of L’Ecu Bicycles in Portland – being a builder of fine custom carbon frames, he has the expertise to very neatly add fender mounts to carbon forks, for example with the Enve disc fork pictured. This will definitely be a useful option for some of my upcoming builds.

In other news, I am hard at work in the shop with one-and-a-bit-arms getting caught up with frame building. I am aiming to be back on schedule by the end of the year! My left arm is still in a sling, no functioning bicep yet. My grip is still weak but slowly improving – I got back on the road bike this week, and just barely had enough hand strength to shift the front derailleur. Maybe this is my excuse to get Di2…..
