First race of the year – the Oregon ‘Classic’ of Kings Valley. Normally the strong crosswinds play a major factor in this race; this year the wind was fairly calm, and the large field was very attentive, making it hard to get away. But I was able to get in a good break of 7 with a lap to go, and we held off the pack to the finish. The three strongest of us in the break fought it out on the uphill drag, and I got…. third. But fairly happy with that for first time out, and one placing higher than last year!
