frames and bikes
This is a collector’s item, but also a fast bike to race! Built for the 1996 Olympics (I don’t know if it was actually ridden there or not, and if so by whom), the aluminium frame features very deep, narrow airfoil sections for all the tubing, with a fin extending below the BB too.
The fork has been upgraded to a custom steel bladed model, but included is the original Kestrel carbon fork, which is color matched to the frame.
A Dura-ace threaded 1″ headset joins frame and fork together, and is topped by a matching Vision one-piece aerobar setup. This has custom machined endcaps and stem plug, with the Syntace TT brake levers and Dura-ace 9sd shifters included.
There are no additional spacers for the seatmast, however, I used a section of tubing cut to length as a spacer, and a plastic wrap around the outside which worked very nicely. The seat height right now is set to 720mm (from center of BB to center of saddle rails), and the effective toptube is 560mm.
Condition is very good – I did race this bike for a few seasons, but it was extremely well looked after! There are a few small paint chips.
