Winter bike 2025

Winter bike 2025
After 15 years of sterling service from my original Winter Bike, I decided to build a new version. The goals here were to maintain the functionality and low maintenance, but add some aerodynamic improvements (my commute is long and windy) and reduce the weight (also hilly).
The frame features a custom externally butted toptube and seatmast, with a modified internal-wedge seatpost and integrated rear light.
The Gates belt drives a Shimano Alfine 8spd hub with Di2 controls from Dura-ace levers. These are currently set to enable shifting from either hand but I may program them to eTap style once it is time for winter gloves.
The toptube extending to the integrated pannier rack provides a nice handle for lifting the bike. I am using the Old Man Mountain Ponderosa minimalist panniers for carrying a laptop and gear.
Enve provide the aero enhancements with their aero bar/stem and SES 4.5 rims.
Lovely carbon fenders by Sturdy Cycles (thanks Tom!), beautiful paint by Colorworks. The final weight comes in at 20.5lbs.
