Tom’s aero road disc
Tom wanted a disc brake road bike with some aero features. So the frame has an ovalised ISP with custom cap, aero downtube, and a fairing behind the headtube. A T47 BB allows for running the rear brake cable internally back to the chainstay. The fork is a custom steel aero disc with 12mm thru-axle (also featured at the rear).
The build has Enve 4.5AR rims with 28mm tubeless tires, laced to White Industries hubs. The group is SRAM Red eTap, with TRP Spyre brakes. Enve aero road bars complete the theme at the front end.
The finish has a powder base by Custom Powderworks, with black chrome logos painted under clear by Colorworks. Final weight is 18.2lbs.
I just wanted to let you know everything came together very nicely. I was able to give a good go (5+ hour ride) this past weekend. The handling is fantastic. I was able to go into some of the corners and sweeping turns at greater speeds than I have before. Rock solid out of the saddle on short punchy hills and sprints. The narrower position on the hoods is very comfortable.
