Peter’s stainless V3 disc

Peter’s stainless V3 disc

Peter and I have been working on this project for some time! Firstly to gather all the parts, which include some more unusual components from various parts of the world. And then the chosen material/finish is quite an involved process: Firstly cutting/machining/pre-brazing the stainless steel tubes/sub-assemblies. Then these went out for polishing. The frame was then fully brazed up, with a dummy seattube in place. Back to the polishers for the joints to be brought up to match, then I could bond in the carbon seatmast and headtube insert. Before the final step of sending out to paint for the logos and clearcoat on the carbon.

But all that time and effort does result in a very shiny bicycle! The frame is designed to be a pure road bike, although it will clear up to 32mm tires. The fork and bar/stem are from Enve, using their In-Route system along with a Chris King Aeroset headset for fully internal routing of the hydraulic hoses. The crankset is a 3D printed titanium model made by Sturdy in the UK, along with their matching BB and rotor lockrings. The same special titanium finishing is also present on the custom through axles from Meti in Italy. Shimano provide the shifting bits, paired with Trickstuff brake calipers from Germany. Also from Europe we have the carbon and 3D printed saddle from Bjorn in Slovenia. Finally, the furthest traveled components are the Partington wheels from Australia. I don’t think the specification can get much more custom than this!

The final weight as shown is 16.8lbs.
