Nick’s stainless adventure frameset

Nick asked me to build him a frame suitable for bikepacking, with clearance for up to 50mm tires. We settled on using the Enve Adventure fork, which has the required clearance plus triple mounts for additional carrying capacity. Nick chose stainless steel for his bike, which is joined with silver fillet brazing. He also asked if I could do ‘fastback’ style seatstays, where the stays join the mainframe at the seatpost binder. On this build this worked well as an alternative to my usual wishbone seatstays, as Nick also requested rack mounts, and having twin seatstays and a bridge gave a nice wider mounting point at the top of the stays.

The frame has a wide format T47 BB to allow the chainstays to sit wide for tire clearance, and the seattube is offset forward on the BB to provide extra clearance. There are bosses for three bottles, a full framebag and a toptube bento bag. For ease of maintenance and access, the cables are run externally under the downtube.

To match the frame, there is a stainless stem, which features a custom bracket to hold the Cane Creek computer mount out front. The frame has a brushed finish, with beadblasted logos.
