Michael’s Tri frame

Michael’s Tri frame

Michael needed a custom frame to get the fit he wanted – we ended up with a 79° seattube and 71° headtube combined with a relatively short toptube. This was based around using a Zipp cockpit with risers under the aero extensions – keeping the headtube fairly short and giving a nice drop to the basebar. The 3T fork was painted to match, along with the customised Bontrager draft box, by Eric at Colorworks. The frame has a dedicated brake mount for the Tri-rig Omega brake under the chainstays, with internal routing for all the cables. The integrated seatmast has 20mm of adjustment with the saddle held by Enve hardware. We also added an additional set of bosses on the toptube for the bento bag.

On his first race outing in Boulder having had the bike only a couple of weeks, Michael finished fourth in his age-group – hopefully just the beginning of many more good results.
