Kris’s road disc
Kris wanted a bike for climbing mountains in Japan. Given that what goes up must come down, he went for disc brakes, in this case SRAM Force hydraulic, combined with the Force single-ring groupset. The geometry has short chainstays for going up, and stable handling for coming down.
The 44mm headtube holds the tapered Enve road disc fork. The rear hydraulic hose runs internally, with the gear cable externally for ease of maintenance. At the back there are Syntace X12 thru-axle dropouts, to match the 12mm axle of the fork. HED Ardennes wheels give a great combination of lightweight and durability, with a wide rim for the 25mm tires.
Paint is by Colorworks, and the final weight comes in at 17.5lbs.
