Ilsa’s road bike

Ilsa’s road bike

Ilsa falls into the category of some of my favorite riders to build for – smaller, lighter riders that I feel are very underserved by production bikes. She was able to visit for a fitting, where I could see that her previous bike was too stretched out for her, and that she would be better off with shorter cranks.

With the location of the contact points identified, I designed the bike to suit the performance attributes Ilsa was looking for, whilst having the right ground-pedal clearance and ensuring no toe-wheel overlap. The frame features a custom headset that allows the Enve tapered fork to fit into a smaller headtube, an aero downtube and custom shaped toptube, chainstays and seatstays.

Ilsa opted for a Shimano Ultegra groupset, with Rotor providing the 155mm cranks. Wheels are Enve 3.4 to keep her aero without a weight penalty.

The paint is by Colorworks, with artwork of Ilsa’s dogs included on the headtube. Final weight as shown is 16.7lbs.
