Gavin’s custom Garmin stem

Sometimes getting the fit you need just needs a custom stem. In this case Gavin is looking to stretch out on his road bike for a particular aero position, so asked me to build a 155mm stem. And since we were doing custom anyway, he requested a built in mount for his Garmin computer, plus an integrated cable hanger for an aero front brake. For the computer mount I used stainless steel plate to prevent any scratching by the unit, and silver brazed it to the front of the clamp. For the cable hanger I added an internal noodle to feed the cable from the front to head down to the brake. Both the bar and steerer clamps are machined cromoly, with a straight gauge cromoly extension. With powdercoat and stainless steel bolts the total weight is 234g.
