Ek’s timetrial frameset
Ek was very interested in having a time trial frame with the toptube flowing into the stem as I have built before. However, with his fit numbers, it was a little challenging to make everything work whilst matching the numbers and the aesthetic he was requesting. We went through multiple iterations before settling on a slightly sloping toptube and stem that achieved all the objectives.
To allow flexible adjustment of the cockpit, the custom stem features a Paragon Machine Works bar clamp so that any handlebar can be used. A 3T Brezza nano basebar was installed and painted to match.
The 3T Funda fork flows into the headtube via a modified hidden headset, with the stem having a built in topcap for bearing preload. TriRig brakes keep things aero, and blend in with painted-to-match covers. There is internal routing for the rear brake cable and Di2 shifting.
Ek asked for rear facing horizontal dropouts, so a set of Bear Components track dropouts were modified for this purpose.
The paint is by Colorworks.
