David’s Endurance Road
David set me a challenge by asking for a bike with a tall headtube (to give him the position he needs), but that would still look like a race bike. And that it should be very light and have a steel fork to match the frame.
Final weight complete as shown is just under 15lbs, and the stunning paintwork by Eric at Colorworks looks fast just standing still! The frame features a mix of True Temper S3 and OX Platinum tubes, plus my usual 3/8″ wishbone seatstay. The components are a mixture of light yet durable parts from Lightning, SRAM, KCNC, Tune and New Ultimate, with a custom wheelset featuring NoTubes 340 rims, Alchemy hubs and tubeless tires.
From David:
After 6 months of riding my new English bike, I just have to let you know one more time how much I love this bike. Not only does it look great and is insanely light, but it’s the best fit of any road bike I’ve owned over the last ~14 years of riding. Your expert advice and insight into bike fit and how that translates into a stylish, lightweight frame is amazing. After spending years on poor fitting bikes, which caused multiple aches and pains, I had no idea how comfortable a bike could be. I really appreciate it. Thanks again.
