David’s all-road bike
David asked me to build him a lightweight road bike for climbing, that could also serve duty for some gravel riding with a tire change. We settled on designing around 32mm tires, whilst allowing clearance for 38s. An Allied carbon fork up front provides that clearance and is mated to the frame with a custom English headset that maintains a slim headtube whilst fitting the tapered fork steerer.
The rear brake hose enters the frame behind the headtube, with a T47 BB allowing space for it to remain internal until right before the caliper on the chainstay.
The SRAM Force AXS groupset is complimented with a 1x chainring from Garbaruk and lightweight parts from Darimo.
Lovely Porsche ‘moonstone’ paint by Colorworks, and the final weight as shown is 16.5lbs.
