Daniel’s road frame

Daniel’s road frame

Daniel and I went back and forth a lot to get the design and features he wanted for this frame. He needs his handlebar low, so we eventually settled on a -17° stem and an integrated headset – in the form of a Chris King Builder’s Edition Inset, which uses a slightly smaller headtube than the standard Inset. With a straight 1-1/8″ steerer the oversize headtube just gave me room to integrate the gear cable stops, which Daniel requested to be flush with the tube. The rear brake will be an Omega from Tri-rig, which fits under the chainstays, with internal cable routing to suit. It was also requested to have the seatbinder flush with the toptube, which gives a nice line to the frame. The tubing is a mix of True Temper and Columbus, with an aero downtube and ovalised toptube. The finish is powdercoat by Bob at Custom powderworks, with the decals under a clear topcoat. Finished frame weight is 1378g.

Hi Rob,
Thought I’d just send you a pic of the maiden ride. I don’t think I’ll write a review (I can if you wish though) but you can record the ride as sublime. The fit is perfect: I didn’t even have to adjust the tilt of the SMP seat. Thanks again for creating something I’ll have many many hours of enjoyment with.
Cheers d;
