Coz’s FGC frameset
Coz asked for a versatile travel bike – room for big tires, wide range 1x gearing. So I designed him a custom FGC (folding gravel concept), where the frame will fold up to pack into an airline checkable case.
I’m quite excited that this is the first bike I have built to feature a US made carbon fork – produced in Arkansas by HIA Velo.
The rear dropouts are Polydrops from Paragon Machine Works, which allow for a rear thru-axle and flat mount disc caliper, whilst offering future-proofing for any new standards that may come along….
Coz will run SRAM eTap, so no gear cable routing required, just for the rear brake hose, which runs internally inside the downtube. A tapered headtube at the front holds a Cane Creek headset, which matches up to the fork without needing a crown race.
The frame was powdercoated for extra durability during packing and travel, with the color matched with wetpaint for the fork, and the graphics applied over the powder and under clear.

Now I get how it works! The chainstay bridge restores the structural integrity after the rear triangle splits in order to fit to the BB shell? Clever.
