Colby’s team issue road bike

Colby’s team issue road bike

Colby had been riding a hand-me-down frame that happened to fit him fairly well. But a car pulling out on him when he was doing 30mph killed that bike – very happy to say that he walked away with just some cuts and bruises. So time for a new frame.

The frame has a custom butted and ovalised integrated seatmast, aero downtube, ovalised toptube and s-bend seatstays. Colby went with a full SRAM Red eTap groupset, along with wheels from Vision.

Paint was applied by Colorworks, and the final weight as shown is 16.5lbs. Be careful out there Colby!

  1. Shoots, was that my old frame that bit the dust? Glad he survived unscathed. The new one is a beauty!

    • Hey John – yes sadly it was…..

  2. With the high end finishing kit, where does the weight come from on this bike?

    • Hi Daniel – I didn’t weigh all the parts as I put it together on this build, but the frame is 1646g. 16lbs with aluminium clinchers seems fairly light to me!
      thanks, Rob.

      • Thanks Rob,

It is always surprising to me how quickly the weight adds up on a bike. For a race bike 16lbs leaves little to be desired.

        Daniel

  3. That classic English look… very nice. I think my next English will have to be in team colors.
