Clara’s race bike

Here is another build I am super happy with as it truly solves problems – my good friend and teammate Clara wanted a road bike that would fit correctly, ride well and avoid toe-overlap whilst keeping 700C wheels. Her previous position was pretty good, but working on the fit-bike we made a few adjustments, no longer being constrained by stock geometry. With the numbers in hand I was then able to come up with her design. The frame is based around 160mm cranks, with the BB height adjusted to suit. A small diameter integrated seatmast helps provide a little compliance at the saddle. The bottle bosses are positioned to keep the bottles as low as possible in the triangle, so that two large bottles will fit.
Clara essentially handed over the paint design to Bethany at Colorworks, just requesting team blue and some rainbow sparkles – the resulting multicolored montage is amazing!
The bike features locally built wheels from Astral Cycling, Rotor cranks, SRAM eTap shifting and finishing parts from FSA. The final weight is 15.9lbs.
