Chris’ 29er

Chris wanted something a bit more trail worthy than a ‘cross bike for exploring off-road around LA. But he wanted to keep that quick handling feel, so we worked out a fairly old school mountain bike geometry – updated with 29×2.4″ tires, boost spacing and thru-axles. A curved seattube allows for short 420mm chainstays, which are heavily manipulated to maximise tire clearance whilst fitting the single 32T chainring.
The ovalised and curved toptube merges into the curved seatstays, which gives clean routing for the brake hose and derailleur cable internally in each side. A carbon headtube insert adds a little bling to the front end.
The custom steel fork features 15mm thru-axle dropouts, a postmount for the brake and internal hose routing.
Paint and English/Mudfoot graphics were applied by Colorworks – Geoff McFetridge then added a few of his figures around the frameset.
Complete weight as shown is 20.5lbs.
Love this! Really cool. Something I would buy.
