Alex’s aero rain bike

Alex’s aero rain bike

In my opinion anyone who rides in the rain should have a dedicated fender (mudguard) bike! For Alex’s build the brief was for a performance road bike to be ridden in all weather. The frame has some aero features including an ovalised seatmast, aero downtube, dropped seatstays and full internal routing.

A carbon headtube insert saves a few grams and adds some visual flair. Enve’s In-Route system provides the fork and bar-stem, combined with the Chris King Aeroset headset – complemented by their hubs and BB all in the matte jade color.

The hubs are laced to Enve 4.5Pro rims and shod with 30mm tires. Portland Design Works full metal fenders keep the road spray under control. Then a Shimano Dura-ace group finishes out the bike.

Alex worked with Roger at Svelte Cycleworks who created the paint design taking inspiration from a limited edition LandRover. This was then carefully executed by Colorworks. The bike weight comes in at 19.9lbs as shown.
