Adriano’s stainless steel mountain bike
Adriano came to visit last year so that we could review his fit and discuss the build. We then went through several iterations of geometry and component spec to finally arrive with the finished machine.
This is a modern long-and-slack hardtail – to the point that I had to modify my frame fixture to allow it to fit! Tubing is mostly from KVA, with dropouts from Paragon Machine Works. The wide format T47 BB shell allows for the chainstay spacing that gives good clearance for the 2.6″ tires, whilst the chainring tucks neatly on the outside. An oversize seattube for a 31.6mm seatpost means that a wireless dropper can be added if desired. The Chris King Aeroset headset mates to the FSA bar/stem to hide the rear brake hose internally.
For the finish, the logo areas were polished up, before being masked and then the whole frame was beadblasted. The weight comes in right at 25lbs with pedals as shown.
